Tour overview

Enjoy safe travel and great views during the whole trip.

Painted merchant mansions introduce a lesser-seen side of Rajasthan to this six-day North India circuit. The Golden Triangle with Mandawa Tour links Delhi, Mandawa, Jaipur and Agra, adding the historic Shekhawati region to a journey otherwise centred around the celebrated heritage cities of the Golden Triangle.

Mandawa changes the character of the route before travellers reach Rajasthan's capital. Instead of monumental royal complexes, the town is known for frescoed havelis, old merchant residences, narrow lanes and Shekhawati architecture. Time spent walking through these surroundings gives the itinerary a distinctly different visual identity from the forts and palaces found later in Jaipur.

From Mandawa, the journey continues to Jaipur for royal heritage and Pink City sightseeing before turning towards Agra. Mughal architecture forms the final chapter, with the TajMahal and Agra Fort providing a strong conclusion to the road circuit.

This 5 nights 6 days Golden Triangle with Mandawa tour package is particularly suitable for families, couples, photographers and heritage travellers who want an itinerary beyond the standard Delhi–Agra–Jaipur route. A private air-conditioned car and driver handle scheduled sightseeing and intercity transportation throughout the journey.

Day wise itinerary

Tour Itinerary

Day1

Delhi Arrival & Capital Sightseeing

Arrive in Delhi and meet your assigned private driver at Delhi Airport, railway station, hotel or another confirmed pickup point. Proceed towards your selected hotel and complete check-in according to the property's applicable timing. After some rest and refreshments, begin the first sightseeing programme according to the available hours. Delhi is given a dedicated opening day, preventing the itinerary from combining arrival, city sightseeing and a long drive to Rajasthan within the same schedule.

Spend the day travelling through selected areas that represent both historic and modern Delhi. The exact combination of attractions can be arranged according to your arrival time, hotel location, monument operating hours and weekly closures. Since the capital is geographically extensive and traffic can vary significantly, sightseeing is planned by area instead of repeatedly crossing the city merely to increase the number of stops.

Later, continue through central Delhi and its prominent avenues before finishing the day's programme. Guests interested in markets, dining or local shopping can use some evening time according to convenience, while travellers arriving after an early journey may return to the hotel sooner. No compulsory commercial visit is included. Spend the first overnight stay in Delhi.

Day2

Delhi to Mandawa&Shekhawati Heritage Walk

Have breakfast, complete check-out and begin the private road journey towards Mandawa in Rajasthan's Shekhawati region. As the route leaves Delhi and moves into Rajasthan, urban surroundings gradually give way to smaller towns and semi-arid landscapes. Take appropriate comfort and refreshment breaks during the drive. On arrival in Mandawa, proceed towards your selected hotel, with heritage-style accommodation available as an option depending on the package category.

After check-in and some rest, begin exploring the historic streets of Mandawa. The town developed as an important trading centre and became known for elaborate residences commissioned by prosperous merchant families. Unlike Jaipur's monumental architecture, much of Mandawa's character is best appreciated while walking through lanes containing old façades, gateways, balconies and painted surfaces. An authorised local guide can be hired separately when guests want detailed information about individual buildings and frescoes.

Continue through selected sections of the old town and observe the frescoed havelis of Shekhawati, subject to accessibility and private-property restrictions. Some buildings may allow entry while others are best viewed externally, so access should never be assumed. Spend the evening absorbing Mandawa's quieter atmosphere rather than adding unrelated sightseeing. Return to the hotel and spend the night in Mandawa.

Day3

Mandawa to Jaipur & Pink City Evening

Begin with breakfast and enjoy a comfortable morning before completing hotel check-out. If time permits, take a brief final walk through an accessible section of Mandawa before meeting the driver. Leave the Shekhawati region and begin travelling towards Jaipur, Rajasthan's capital. The road journey introduces another change in scale, moving from a smaller heritage town towards one of North India's major tourist cities.

Take a suitable lunch or refreshment break during the drive and continue towards Jaipur. On arrival, proceed to your selected hotel and complete check-in. Keep some time for rest after the journey rather than immediately starting a lengthy fort visit. The city's major royal attractions are reserved for the following day so they can be covered with adequate daylight and without pressure from monument closing hours.

Later, spend the evening around an accessible section of the Pink City. Walk through traditional commercial streets or browse textiles, jewellery, handicrafts and locally made products according to personal interest. Shopping is entirely optional, and guests preferring additional leisure can remain at the hotel. Return after the evening outing and spend your first overnight stay in Jaipur.

Day4

Jaipur Heritage Sightseeing & Second Night in Jaipur

Have breakfast and leave for a complete day dedicated to Jaipur's royal heritage. Begin around the historic hill and fort region, where defensive architecture, royal courtyards and views across the Aravalli surroundings establish a sharp contrast with Mandawa's merchant havelis. Spend adequate time walking through the principal accessible sections rather than reducing the morning programme to a series of short photography stops.

Return towards central Jaipur for the afternoon portion of the sightseeing programme. Cover the major royal and historical areas according to their applicable opening hours and take a comfortable lunch break between visits. The itinerary provides a full day in Jaipur, allowing travellers to appreciate the city's architectural diversity without needing to leave immediately for Agra. Monument tickets and authorised guide charges remain separate from the package.

Use the later afternoon for additional Pink City surroundings, photography or market time according to preference. Families may return to the hotel earlier after a full day of sightseeing, while travellers interested in local shopping can spend some additional time in the traditional bazaars. No particular shop or showroom is compulsory. Return to your hotel and spend the second night in Jaipur.

Day5

Jaipur to Agra & Mughal Heritage Sightseeing

After breakfast, complete check-out and begin the private road journey from Jaipur towards Agra. Leaving Rajasthan behind, travel east towards Uttar Pradesh with suitable comfort and meal stops along the route. An early departure is useful because it provides more sightseeing time after reaching Agra. Road and traffic conditions can influence the actual arrival time, so the day's sequence remains practical rather than overly rigid.

On reaching Agra, proceed towards the selected hotel for check-in or begin sightseeing directly when that better suits the applicable timings. Visit Agra Fort and walk through its accessible gateways, courtyards, halls and former royal sections. The extensive red sandstone complex introduces the Mughal character of the final destination while leaving the TajMahal for the following morning, when travellers can visit it before departure.

After completing the fort programme, proceed to your hotel and keep the evening at leisure. Guests can have dinner according to their selected meal arrangement and prepare for an early start the following morning if required. No additional monument is forced into the evening schedule after the Jaipur–Agra journey. Spend the final overnight stay in Agra.

Day6

Taj Mahal Visit & Departure

Begin the final day with a visit to the TajMahal, according to seasonal opening hours and your onward departure schedule. Enter through the applicable security procedures and spend adequate time within the gardens and principal visitor areas. Carry only permitted items, as restrictions apply to belongings taken inside the complex. The TajMahal is generally closed to regular visitors on Fridays, so the itinerary must be rearranged when the final day falls on a Friday.

After the visit, return for breakfast when applicable and complete hotel check-out. Travellers departing from Agra can proceed towards the railway station or another confirmed local location. Guests continuing towards Delhi can begin the private road transfer after check-out, with a suitable refreshment stop made during the journey if required. The final drop arrangement should be confirmed when the package is booked.

At the scheduled time, your driver will complete the transfer to the confirmed Agra or Delhi departure point. The Golden Triangle with Mandawa Tour 5 nights 6 days concludes after combining Delhi's capital character, Shekhawati's frescoed merchant heritage, Jaipur's royal Rajasthan architecture and Agra's celebrated Mughal legacy.
