Tour overview

Enjoy safe travel and great views during the whole trip.

Two of India's most significant sacred cities come together in the Varanasi &Ayodhya Pilgrimage Tour, a 4 nights and 5 days journey centred on temple darshan, the Ganges, ancient pilgrimage traditions and religious sites associated with Lord Shiva and Lord Ram.

Varanasi forms the first half of the journey. The itinerary provides dedicated time for Shri KashiVishwanath Temple, the ghats along the Ganges and the evening Ganga Aarti. A morning boat ride can also be arranged separately, giving travellers a river-level view of the historic ghat landscape when weather and river conditions permit.

The programme additionally covers Sarnath, an important Buddhist pilgrimage site located outside central Varanasi. Its inclusion brings a different religious and historical dimension to the journey before the road transfer towards Ayodhya.

Ayodhya forms the final pilgrimage section with Shri Ram JanmabhoomiMandir, Hanuman Garhi and the sacred Saryu riverfront. Two nights in Ayodhya provide more flexibility for temple queues and security procedures than a brief transit visit.

This Varanasi Ayodhya tour package is suitable for families, senior travellers, couples and private religious groups. A private air-conditioned car with driver handles the scheduled road transfers, while the itinerary allows additional time for pedestrian religious zones where normal vehicles cannot operate.

Tour Itinerary

Day1

Arrival in Varanasi, KashiVishwanathDarshan& Ganga Aarti

Arrive in Varanasi and meet your private driver at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, Varanasi railway station or another confirmed local pickup point. Proceed towards the selected hotel in your air-conditioned vehicle and complete check-in according to the property's applicable timing. Take some rest after the journey before preparing for the first pilgrimage session. The afternoon programme can be adjusted when the flight or train reaches Varanasi later than expected.

Proceed towards the old-city pilgrimage area for Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple darshan. Vehicle access is restricted within several narrow lanes around the temple and ghats, so the private car will proceed only to the permitted point. Continue on foot or by locally authorised transport where required. Follow all current security instructions regarding mobile phones, cameras, bags and other belongings before entering controlled temple areas.

Complete Kashi Vishwanath darshan according to the applicable queue and access arrangements. Waiting times can change substantially according to the day, crowd levels and religious calendar. Any special darshan service, puja, donation or priest arrangement remains separate unless specifically included in the confirmed package.

Later, proceed towards the Ganges and reach the appropriate ghat area in sufficient time for the evening Ganga Aarti. Crowds can become heavy before the ceremony, so early arrival is preferable. Attend the Aarti from the permitted riverfront area before meeting the driver at the designated pickup point. Return to the hotel and spend the first night in Varanasi.

Day2

Sunrise Ganges Boat Ride, Varanasi Temples &Sarnath

Wake up before sunrise for an optional Ganges boat ride in Varanasi, subject to weather, river conditions, local regulations and boat availability. Proceed towards the designated ghat and board an authorised boat when arranged. Morning hours provide a distinctive perspective of the riverfront as pilgrims gather at the ghats and the old city begins its daily religious routine.

Boat charges remain separate unless explicitly included in the package. Rates vary according to boat type, duration, boarding point and whether the vessel is shared or private. Travellers should agree on the complete price before boarding. Boat operations can be suspended during unsuitable river or weather conditions, and no tour schedule should treat the activity as guaranteed regardless of local safety instructions.

After the river visit, return to the hotel for breakfast and rest. Later, continue with selected Varanasi temple and religious sightseeing according to current opening hours and accessibility. The exact sequence can be adjusted to avoid unnecessary movement through congested parts of the city. Some pilgrimage locations may again require walking because private cars cannot enter every old-city lane.

In the afternoon, travel towards Sarnath, located outside central Varanasi. Spend time around the principal Buddhist pilgrimage and archaeological areas. Paid monuments or museum sections require separate tickets where applicable. After completing the Sarnath visit, return towards Varanasi and keep the evening available for rest or an additional riverfront visit according to preference. Spend the second night in Varanasi.

Day3

Varanasi to Ayodhya&Saryu Riverfront

Have breakfast at the hotel, collect your luggage and complete check-out. Meet your private driver and begin the road journey from Varanasi to Ayodhya. Since actual travel time depends on traffic, road conditions and stops, the transfer should occupy a comfortable part of the day rather than being combined with an overloaded sightseeing programme.

Take a lunch or refreshment break at a suitable location during the journey when required. Families travelling with elderly members can request reasonable comfort stops along the road. Continue towards Ayodhya and proceed directly to the selected hotel after arrival. Complete check-in and take some rest before the evening pilgrimage programme.

Later, proceed towards the Saryu River and its principal pilgrimage surroundings. Vehicle restrictions may operate near busy ghats, requiring some walking from the designated drop point. Spend time along the sacred riverfront and attend the evening religious atmosphere according to the local schedule. Guests may arrange personal prayers or rituals independently if desired.

Puja services, priest charges, diya offerings and donations remain personal expenses. Travellers should agree on any optional religious service and its price before participating. After completing the riverfront visit, meet the driver at the designated location and return to the hotel. Spend the first night in Ayodhya.

Day4

Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, Hanuman Garhi & Ayodhya Pilgrimage

Begin the morning with breakfast or depart earlier when the day's darshan arrangements make an early start more practical. Proceed towards Shri Ram JanmabhoomiMandir, allowing sufficient time for vehicle restrictions, walking and security procedures. Carry only permitted belongings and follow the current instructions applicable to visitors.

Enter the designated queue for Ram Mandirdarshan. Crowd conditions can vary substantially, particularly on weekends, festivals and important religious dates. No fixed completion time should therefore be guaranteed. Families and senior travellers should avoid scheduling another time-sensitive activity immediately after the visit because temple queues may require additional time.

After completing darshan, take a suitable break before proceeding towards Hanuman Garhi. The temple is another important pilgrimage stop in Ayodhya and involves steps, which should be considered when travelling with elderly visitors or anyone with limited mobility. Spend sufficient time for darshan without placing pressure on the group to move immediately to another site.

Continue with selected Ayodhya sacred sites according to opening hours and available time. The programme can include KanakBhawan and other suitable religious surroundings when local conditions permit. Rather than attempting to visit every small shrine, the schedule prioritises important pilgrimage locations and comfortable movement between them.

Return to the hotel later in the day. Guests who want another visit to the Saryu riverfront may use the evening when practical, while others can rest after the day's temple visits. Spend the second night in Ayodhya.

Day5

Ayodhya Morning Pilgrimage & Departure

Begin the final morning with breakfast and keep time available for a selected temple or Saryughat visit when the departure schedule permits. This additional period also provides flexibility if any religious location could not be covered comfortably on the previous day because of unusually long queues or temporary access restrictions.

Travellers who have completed all preferred darshan can keep the morning relaxed at the hotel. Those wishing to purchase prasad or religious items may do so according to personal preference, although no shopping visit is compulsory. Guests should retain enough time to return to the hotel and complete check-out without affecting their onward flight or train.

Collect your luggage and meet the private driver for the scheduled departure transfer. Proceed towards Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhyadham, Ayodhya railway station or another confirmed local drop point. Adequate buffer time should be retained because road diversions and traffic controls can operate around major pilgrimage areas.

Receive the final drop according to the confirmed booking. The Varanasi &Ayodhya Pilgrimage Tour 4 nights 5 days concludes after connecting the sacred Ganges ghats and Shiva traditions of Varanasi with the Ram pilgrimage sites and Saryu riverfront of Ayodhya.
