Jaipur–Chittorgarh–Udaipur Heritage Circuit

Tour overview

Enjoy safe travel and great views during the whole trip.

Centuries of Rajput history unfold across three very different settings on the route from Jaipur to Chittorgarh and onward to Udaipur. The Jaipur–Chittorgarh–Udaipur Heritage Circuit is a 4 nights and 5 days private road journey built for travellers who want Rajasthan's forts and palaces to remain the central theme of their holiday.

Jaipur begins the historical trail with the hilltop architecture of Amer, the royal quarters of City Palace, the astronomical legacy of Jantar Mantar and the familiar façade of Hawa Mahal. From the state capital, the route heads towards Chittorgarh Fort, where an enormous fortified complex preserves monuments connected with some of the most remembered chapters of Mewar's past. Sufficient time is reserved here because Chittorgarh cannot be understood through a single photo stop.

Udaipur completes the journey in a softer landscape of lakes, hills and palace architecture. City Palace Udaipur and Lake Pichola provide a striking contrast to the vast defensive structures encountered at Chittorgarh. Travelling throughout the circuit by private car also makes the package practical for Indian families, couples and small groups seeking a Jaipur Chittorgarh Udaipur tour without arranging separate transport for every sector.

Tour Itinerary

Day1

Jaipur Arrival, City Palace, Jantar Mantar & Hawa Mahal

Meet your assigned driver after arriving at Jaipur Airport, Jaipur Junction railway station, bus stand or another pickup location confirmed before the tour. Travel by private car to the selected Jaipur hotel and complete the check-in formalities according to the property's standard timings. Some rest is kept before sightseeing so travellers arriving after a long journey do not have to move immediately into a demanding programme. Once ready, leave for the historic walled section of Jaipur. The first day's attractions are grouped within the central part of the city, keeping travel time practical while introducing the architectural character of Rajasthan's capital.

Begin with City Palace Jaipur, whose courtyards, gateways, museum sections and royal buildings occupy an important position within the old city. After walking through the accessible areas, continue to nearby Jantar Mantar, where monumental astronomical instruments present an entirely different aspect of Jaipur's history. The observatory reflects the scientific interests of Sawai Jai Singh II and deserves time beyond a brief walk-through. Travellers interested in architecture and history can examine the scale and unusual forms of the principal instruments while learning how astronomical observations were undertaken centuries ago.

Continue through the Pink City towards Hawa Mahal, stopping at an appropriate point to view and photograph its elaborate façade. The surrounding quarter remains one of Jaipur's busiest traditional commercial areas, with markets selling jewellery, textiles, handicrafts, footwear and everyday goods. Guests can spend a short period browsing the markets when interested, although shopping is entirely optional. Those who prefer more rest before the next day's journey can return directly to the hotel. Drive back after the sightseeing programme and spend the first night in Jaipur.

Day2

Amer Fort, Jal Mahal & Jaipur to Chittorgarh

Have breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed towards Amer Fort in the hills north of Jaipur. The morning is reserved for this substantial palace-fort complex before the intercity journey begins. Walk through its principal gateways, courtyards and accessible royal sections while observing how rugged defensive construction is combined with ornate palace architecture. Elevated terraces provide views towards Maota Lake and the surrounding hills, while interior areas reveal decorative work associated with the former royal residence. Comfortable footwear is recommended because the visit involves steps, slopes and considerable walking.

After leaving Amer, descend towards Jaipur and stop at Jal Mahal beside Man Sagar Lake. The palace is generally viewed from the lakeside during a regular sightseeing itinerary, and the halt provides time for photographs before leaving the city. Continue by private car towards Chittorgarh, taking a suitable meal or refreshment break along the route at your own expense. The road journey crosses central Rajasthan and forms a transition from Jaipur's urban environment towards the historic Mewar region associated with the next stage of the holiday.

Arrive in Chittorgarh later in the day and proceed to your selected hotel. Complete check-in and keep the evening free after the road journey rather than trying to cover the enormous fort complex with limited daylight. Travellers may rest at the property or take a short independent outing nearby when practical. Keeping Chittorgarh Fort for the following morning also provides substantially more time to understand its monuments instead of rushing between them shortly before closing. Dinner will be according to your selected hotel meal plan, followed by an overnight stay in Chittorgarh.

Day3

Chittorgarh Fort Heritage Tour & Drive to Udaipur

After breakfast, check out and proceed towards Chittorgarh Fort, one of the most historically significant fortified complexes in Rajasthan. Spread across a large hilltop area, the fort contains palaces, towers, temples, gateways, reservoirs and ruins rather than functioning as a single enclosed monument. The sightseeing programme therefore requires road movement between some sections along with walking at individual stops. Travellers should keep drinking water and comfortable footwear with them, particularly during warmer months. A local guide can be hired separately by guests who want detailed historical interpretation during the fort visit.

Spend the morning visiting prominent structures within the fort complex, including Vijay Stambh, the celebrated victory tower associated with Rana Kumbha, and Kirti Stambh, an earlier tower connected with Jain heritage. Continue through important palace and historical sections accessible to visitors, which may include areas associated with Rana Kumbha and Rani Padmini depending on operating conditions and the final sightseeing sequence. The fort's reservoirs, temples and expansive viewpoints reveal that Chittorgarh historically functioned as far more than a military outpost. Adequate time is kept for the circuit because reducing such a large heritage site to one or two stops would leave the visit incomplete.

After completing Chittorgarh sightseeing, take a lunch break and begin the drive towards Udaipur. The journey continues deeper into the Mewar region, with the surrounding terrain becoming increasingly influenced by the Aravalli landscape. Reach Udaipur and proceed to your selected hotel for check-in. After a day involving extensive fort sightseeing and road travel, the evening is intentionally left free for rest. Guests staying in a conveniently located property may enjoy a short independent walk or dinner nearby if desired. Spend the first overnight stay in Udaipur.

Day4

City Palace Udaipur, Old City & Lake Pichola

After breakfast, begin the Udaipur sightseeing programme with City Palace, dramatically positioned above Lake Pichola. The complex developed over generations of Mewar rulers and contains a network of courtyards, balconies, gateways, rooms and museum sections. Its architecture feels considerably different after the vast defensive landscape of Chittorgarh, bringing the tour from a fortified hill capital into an elegant lakeside royal setting. Several accessible areas also provide attractive perspectives over Lake Pichola and the surrounding city. Keep sufficient time for walking because the palace complex contains numerous sections and passages.

Once the palace visit is complete, continue through selected areas of old Udaipur and stop for lunch at a restaurant of your choice. The narrow streets around the historic centre contain small shops, workshops and businesses selling paintings, textiles, jewellery, handicrafts and other Rajasthan-made products. Guests interested in shopping can browse independently, while those who prefer a slower afternoon may spend the time near an accessible lakefront area. No compulsory shopping visit is included in the tour, and purchases remain entirely at the traveller's discretion.

Towards the later part of the day, proceed to Lake Pichola. Guests may choose a boat ride when services are operating, subject to weather, water conditions, ticket availability and local regulations. Views from the lake bring Udaipur's waterfront palaces, ghats and surrounding hills into a single panorama, making the outing particularly rewarding around the evening hours. Travellers not taking the boat ride can instead spend time around the accessible waterfront. Return to the hotel after completing the evening programme and spend your second night in Udaipur.

Day5

Udaipur Leisure Morning & Departure

Begin the final morning with breakfast at your hotel and keep the early hours relatively relaxed. After four days of fort visits, road journeys and city sightseeing, no major excursion is forced into the departure schedule. Complete the hotel check-out according to the property's applicable timing and prepare for your onward transfer. The precise departure programme will depend on whether you are travelling from Udaipur by flight, train, bus or continuing elsewhere under a separately arranged journey.

Guests with an afternoon or evening departure can use the available time for a short local shopping stop or another convenient city drive within the confirmed vehicle schedule. Those who prefer a slower conclusion may simply have lunch or spend some time around an accessible part of central Udaipur before heading to the departure point. Additional sightseeing should only be considered when enough time remains after accounting for local traffic and airport or railway reporting requirements. Personal meals and purchases during this period remain payable directly.

At the agreed time, the private car will transfer you to Maharana Pratap Airport, Udaipur City railway station, bus stand or another confirmed local drop point. The 4 nights 5 days Jaipur Chittorgarh Udaipur tour package concludes after following a route closely tied to Rajasthan's royal and Mewar heritage. Jaipur introduces planned royal architecture, Chittorgarh contributes the scale and history of a legendary fortified capital, and Udaipur brings the journey to an end among palaces, hills and lakes.
